Если мы добавим ever к вопросительным словам how, what, which, when, where, who, то значение поменяется:
▪️на «без разницы who, where, when» и т.д.
Ex: Choose whichever (любое) time suits you best then write your name against that time on the list.
Ex: Call in whenever (когда угодно) you like. I’m always at home. (at any time at all that you like)
▪️на акцентирование вопроса (в значении «как вообще» + мы выделяем эти слова во время речи
Ex: However will you manage to live on such a small income? (Как вообще ты сможешь выжить с таким маленьким доходом?)
Ex: Whenever are you going to stop complaining? (Когда уже ты перестанешь жаловаться?)
▪️ Whatsoever (= whatever). Используется после отрицания.
Ex: He seems to have no ambitions whatsoever.
▪️могут использоваться как:
– союзы
Ex: Whatever he says, it won't make any difference.
– местоимения
Ex: Whoever gets home first can cook dinner for the others.
